Nike Kobe Zoom Shoe T-Shirt

While working with Nike Los Angeles, I was given the opportunity to design custom graphics for live shirt press events—designs that customers could choose and wear on the spot. One of my favorite projects was this piece honoring Kobe Bryant’s Nike legacy, featuring every shoe he wore throughout his contract, leading up to the unreleased 12th model.

My goal was to create a design that not only celebrated Kobe’s iconic footwear line, but also spoke to the deep connection between the athlete, the brand, and the community. The challenge was in the details—each shoe has its own unique silhouette and visual language, and fitting them all into a cohesive, balanced composition took careful planning, research, and illustration.

I experimented with layout, scale, and simplification techniques to preserve each shoe’s identity without overwhelming the design. The final product struck the right balance: bold, clean, and full of heart. It resonated with both Nike clients and local fans—many of whom were lifelong Kobe supporters. This project was a reminder of how design can connect emotion, culture, and sport in a meaningful, wearable form.
